The call for papers for the 6th DARIAH-HR conference Digital Humanities & Heritage is open

The call for papers is now open for the 6th DARIAH-HR International Conference Digital Humanities & Heritage 2026, which will take place from 7 to 9 October 2026 at the Faculty of Humanities, Juraj Dobrila University of Pula, Croatia.

This year's conference, entitled Cultural Memory vs. Machine Memory, explores the relationship between cultural memory, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence. Particular attention will be given to digital heritage, archives, research infrastructures, algorithmic knowledge, humanistic interpretation, and the ethical and societal challenges arising from the growing use of AI in culture and heritage.

We invite submissions of theoretical, methodological, empirical, creative, and practice-based contributions in the fields of the humanities, arts, and cultural heritage, particularly within the following thematic areas:

How to Participate

We invite proposals for individual presentations, posters, and panels. Submissions should include an abstract of up to 500 words, a short biographical note of up to 200 words, and a photograph. The submission deadline is 30 June 2026.

Authors of selected contributions will be invited to submit their work for publication in a peer-reviewed conference proceedings volume.

Please note that presentations and posters will be held onsite only. Participation in the conference is free of charge.
