A two-day workshop Sustainable access to digital cultural and scientific heritage: Ethical and legal issueshas been organized in Zagreb on 26 and 27 January as a cooperation between The Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research and University of Zagreb University Computing Centre – SRCE in the framework of DARIAH's Humanities at Scale project.

A two-day workshop Sustainable access to digital cultural and scientific heritage: Ethical and legal issueshas been organized in Zagreb on 26 and 27 January as a cooperation between The Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research and University of Zagreb University Computing Centre – SRCE in the framework of DARIAH's Humanities at Scale project.

Presenters and workshop managers were lawyers and other prominent experts from a variety of educational, scientific and heritage institutions from Croatia, Austria and Denmark (see program). In the two days of the workshop, the participants have had the opportunity to hear twelve presentations regardingh professional, legal and ethical issues associated with open access to archival material or scientific papers and books. (see presentations) In the afternoon hours a total of four workshops were held: Intellectual Property Rights, Creative Commons Licenses, Contract drafting and The protection of personal data and scientific research. Presentations have been available through webinar, which was ensured by SRCE and the workshop was attended by 76 registered participants from Croatia and throughout Europe. (photo gallery) DARIAH-HR coordinator invited the presenters and other participants of the workshop to actively involve themselves in forming a new international DARIAH's working group that would be continuously dealing with the ethical and legal issues in the e-environment.
