Martina Krivić Lekić graduated in History and Ethnology, research track, from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, in 2007. In the same year, she joined the State Archives in Bjelovar as an archivist, working on the arrangement, appraisal and description of archival fonds and collections, user and research enquiries, and professional tasks related to the accessibility and use of archival records.

Since 2015, she has served as Director of the State Archives in Bjelovar. Her professional and research work focuses on historical, ethnological and archival topics, particularly the preparation of thematic guides, finding aids and other research tools for the use of archival fonds and collections. She is the author of several professional and scholarly papers, as well as exhibition and outreach programmes aimed at making archival records more accessible to professional and wider audiences.

She is particularly engaged in digitisation, the digital presentation of archival records, and the development of new forms of access to archival sources. She initiated and has managed the Digital Archives of the State Archives in Bjelovar since 2013, serves as administrator of Topotheque Bjelovar, and has led several projects related to digitisation, digital presentation and community involvement in collecting, describing and interpreting archival heritage. Her professional interests include digital access to cultural heritage, participatory models of presenting heritage materials, and the intersection of archival science, history, ethnology, digital humanities and researchers.
