Bojan Macan - IRB

Bojan Macan is Head of the Centre for Scientific Information at the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb, Croatia. He holds a PhD in Information and Communication Sciences from the University of Zagreb and works in open science, research information management, and research evaluation.

He has contributed to a range of national and international initiatives supporting open science, including the ongoing Horizon Europe projects PATTERN and OSTrails. At the national level, he is involved in the development and maintenance of key research information infrastructures, such as DABAR and the Croatian Current Research Information System (CroRIS).

He serves as Croatia’s National Point of Reference on Scientific Information and Open Science/Open Access at the European Commission and as the OpenAIRE NOAD for Croatia. His interests focus on the development of open science and related information infrastructure, research evaluation, and the redefinition of the role of libraries within the science and higher education system.
