Ana Konestra - IARH

Ana_KonestraDr. sc. Ana Konestra is a senior research associate at the Institute of Archaeology. She is the PI of one and a collaborator of several competitive and research projects, field research and archaeological material processing projects, some of which she conducts in collaboration with international institutions. She is the co-author of one scientific monograph, numerous scientific articles and is the co-editor of several scientific proceedings. She has organized, in collaboration with domestic and foreign institutions, several international conferences, round tables and a summer school. She gained international experience during her BA and MA studies (University of Udine, Italy), research stays at the French School in Rome, as a visiting fellow at the University of Bologna (Institute of Advanced Studies ISA) and as a collaborator on a grant of the Polish National Science Centre (NCN).

Her scientific interests are Roman and late antique archaeology, especially in the context of landscape and material culture studies, and the use of so-called legacy data. From the academic year 2025/2026 she is teaching at the undergraduate study program of Archaeology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Pula.
