Aleksandra Uzelac

Dr. Aleksandra Uzelac is a Senior Research Associate and Head of the Department for Culture and Communication at the Institute for Development and International Relations (IRMO). She has 30 years of professional experience in international projects in the field of cultural research, focusing on cultural policy, sustainable cultural development, digital culture, international cultural cooperation and networks, and cultural heritage. The results of her research have been published in academic publications in Croatia and across Europe. She is an active member of various expert groups in the fields of cultural policy and digital culture.

Dr. Uzelac has contributed her research expertise to numerous projects and studies for the Council of Europe, the European Commission, and the European Parliament. Since 2023, she has been a member of the UNESCO Expert Facility. She has coordinated or participated in numerous European research projects, including CRESCINE, SoPHIA, Rapids and Backwaters: Adapting Fast and Slow to a Digital Cultural Turn, PLATEU, CULPOL, and Access to Culture – Policy Analysis, among others.
